This article will show you how to get copywriting jobs while on vacation. I will also talk about travelling and leading the copywriter’s lifestyle.
One of the many perks about being a copywriter, aside from being able to claim much of my travel expenses as a business expense, is being able to work part-time even while overseas.
So how do you find freelance copywriter jobs and still enjoy a vacation overseas at the same time?
If you bring along a laptop computer and stay in a hotel that have free Wi-Fi, you can do practically anything you want to do workwise. In the mornings, you can dedicate a couple of hours to writing, before you go out for the day.
A way to get copywriting jobs while on vacation is to approach local businesses.
In Vegas, for example, where I have taken a holiday and still worked at the same time, there are hundreds of different shows going on – all competing for the tourist dollar. The way these shows promote themselves to attract tourists is through advertising, which is a copywriter’s specialty.
You can contact some of these show’s promoters, ask them if how their advertising is going. If they’re not getting the results they want, perhaps they can help them rewrite some of their brochures or pamphlets to attract more tourists to their shows. This is an excellent way to get copywriter jobs – a technique that I personally use to drum up clients even while on vacation.
Getting into the rhythm of working a few hours in the mornings or in the evenings will help you maintain your productivity even while enjoying a vacation. So take a holiday and still earn money while you’re away from home.
An added bonus in travelling to other countries is getting the chance to attend conferences that may not be available in your local city. In America, for example, there are so many different marketing and businesses conference which I can network at – a great way of drumming up new clients.
