In this article, I\’m going to share with you 6 email subject lines that really work in getting your emails opened, read, and responded to by subscribers.

You must know, however, that although an interesting email subject line usually prompts a subscriber to open and read your email, it is not the number one factor that contributes to the success of your email marketing campaigns.

The first and most important factor that helps increase the chances of an email getting read by subscribers is actually the sender\’s trustability. It is the number one email open rate secret.

This means that if your email\’s recipients know and trust you, they will most likely open and read the email you sent them. Otherwise, it doesn\’t matter how good your email subject line is, recipients will be suspicious, think you are a spammer, and delete your emails without reading them.

That said, email subject lines still play a major role in making your email marketing campaign a big success.

Here are 6 email subject lines that really work:

  1. Mention the main benefit your readers want.

If, for example, you are sending an email to a database of single men who are looking to get a girlfriend, you can use any of the following templates as an email subject line:

    • [VIDEO] How To Get a Girlfriend
    • 7 Ways To Get a Girlfriend
    • 7 Steps To Getting a Girlfriend

These are really effective email subject lines in getting your emails opened. Having the word \”VIDEO\” at the beginning of your subject line, in particular, is proven to give you a high email open rate. Just make sure that people can indeed find a video somewhere in your email when they open it!

The subject line should always relate to the actual content of your email.

  2. You are not alone.

This particular email subject line has achieved an incredible 90% open rate in many email campaigns in different markets. The reason why it is extremely effective is that it relates to people\’s universal feeling of wanting to belong.

When you use \”You are not alone\” in the email subject line, you are basically saying to readers that there is a whole community they can become a part of if they sign up for your program or campaign. This will give readers the sense of belongingness they are looking for.

  3. Hey…

It may be a very short and simple subject line, but it\’s so effective that it has achieved 30% open rates in email campaigns.

\”Hey\” sounds very informal and personal—almost like an email from a close friend.

Since this subject line does not tell you much about the contents of the email, it can instantly strike your readers\’ curiosity, prompting them to open your email.

  4. Watch this video.

The reason why YouTube is very popular is that people in general love watching videos. \”Watch this video\”, therefore, is one of the most powerful email subject lines that really work. Moreover, it sounds like a command, which readers will be more than happy to follow if you have established a relationship with them.

One other reason why this email subject line works is that it uses the word \”this.\” In copywriting, the word \”this\” invokes that natural curiosity we all have.

It may not be a descriptive subject line but since it stirs curiosity, it has achieved an impressive 26% open rate.

  5. You\’ll love this…

If you have established a strong relationship with your readers, they will most likely respond to recommendations from you.

Since the email subject line also uses the word \”this,\” it will strike their curiosity and prompt them to open your email to find out what you think they will love.

  6. Have you seen this?

Aside from the fact that it is curiosity-invoking, it also uses social proof. This particular subject line gives the impression that a lot of people have already seen what you want to show them, and since it is human nature to not want to be the last to know about things, they will want to open your email.

Use any of these as your email subject lines and you will definitely see an increase in your email open rates.
